Students Synthesis Language Arts Skills and Knowledge Via Book Project

I would love to see my 8th graders write stories for the kids at an elementary school in our district!

Not only would this project serve to teach my students how to enjoy learning, work with one another, and solve real-world problems, but would enable them to synthesize the skills that they learn in their ELA classes, ranging from reading informational and fictional texts to writing and grammar.

If you have ever done a problem like this, particularly if it aligned to reading standards, I'd love to read your experiences.
